Budget Bill Passes House and Senate

After midnight, the House and Senate voted to pass CCR on HB 2513, the budget for fiscal years 2026, 2027, 2028, 2029 and 2030.

Governor Vetoes, Legislature Overrides Health Tax Bill

Late yesterday, Governor Laura Kelly vetoed SB 368. The legislation enacts the Health Care Sharing Ministries Tax Deduction Act to provide a subtraction modification for qualified health care sharing expenses paid by a qualified individual and certain qualified health care shares received by a qualified individual.

Health-Related Bill Bundles Continue Toward the Governor's Desk

Health-related bill bundles have been making their way through the House and Senate, as they head toward what is known as the first adjournment, where the legislature will return home to their districts until the veto session, scheduled for April 9.
