Budget Veto Override Updates
Yesterday, the Kansas Senate voted on a global package to override all of the Line-Item vetoes of the budget bill contained in SB 125, fiscal year budget bill for FY 2026, 2027 and 2028. Line-item vetoes are included in this article.
 

Final Conference Committee Reports Run Completing Session
The House and Senate began running Conference Committee Reports on final bill packages that have been assembled. The Conference Committee Reports receiving votes in the final two days of legislative session are included in this article.
 

Kansas Fights Addiction Grant Review Board Meets
The committee received an update from the attorney general’s staff. The Sunflower Foundation reported that one grantee that was awarded previously has had to decline their award. They had to close their SUD program. The committee also reviewed the needs assessment with Kansas Center for Public Partnerships and Research. 
 

Final Constitutional Amendment Passes in Last Hours of Legislative Session
Starting around 3:00 p.m. today, the House Taxation Committee met to push through a state constitutional amendment. The amendment, similar to HCR 5011, was inserted into SCR 1603.
