Cyclosporiasis Update from KDHE

Cyclosporiasis is an intestinal illness caused by the parasite Cyclospora cayetanensis. Infection occurs through ingestion of contaminated food or water. In Kansas, an average of 44 cases is reported each year. In 2025, only 31 cases were reported. So far this year, 461 cases have been reported in Kansas.

KSBN Clarifies Guidance for Newly Licensed and Out-of-State LPNs Performing IV Therapy

A newly licensed Kansas LPN, or an LPN transferring from another state, may not perform IV therapy in Kansas until the IV-therapy designation appears on the nurse's Kansas Board of Nursing license verification record.

CMS Issues IPPS Final Rule and Expands Mandatory Bundled Payments

CMS finalized the FY 2027 Inpatient Prospective Payment System rule, providing a net 2.3 percent payment increase while expanding mandatory bundled payments nationwide through the Comprehensive Care for Joint Replacement model beginning in 2028.
