Lori Dennis fills the gaps that can stand between patients and healing. At Smith County Memorial Hospital, she serves as patient advocate, discharge planner, utilization review coordinator, risk manager, Swing Bed coordinator, SCHICK counselor and founder of the Patient Family Advisory Council. Dennis helps patients address barriers such as transportation, food insecurity, housing instability, insurance and medication costs — even personally paying for a patient’s blood sugar medication after discharge. Her calm leadership and deep compassion strengthen care for patients and families.
