Nathan Norman is an experienced information systems employee whose selfless leadership and dedication helped Greenwood County Hospital navigate a transitional challenge. As interim director for the information systems department, Norman resolved lingering technical issues, streamlined operations and fostered a supportive environment. His positive attitude remained unwavering, even during major crises such as an email outage and a ransomware attack, both of which he managed with composure and technical excellence. Notably, he singlehandedly removed ransomware from the hospital's server without data loss or paying ransom. Though he declined the permanent role due of director due to medical concerns, he ensured the department was organized and functioning smoothly for the arrival of the permanent director.
