For more than three decades, Dr. Wendel Ellis has been a bedrock of rural health care at Greeley County Health Services. He has carried the load as a sole provider, taken emergency room calls, delivered babies, rounded on hospital patients, seen full clinic schedules and made home visits for patients without transportation. Along the way, he mentored new providers and supported staff with generosity and humor. His personal, patient-first approach has shaped the organization’s culture and strengthened care for the community.
