The Workforce Strategies Award recognizes a team of employees, providers or volunteers who have worked collaboratively to make a significant contribution to the wellbeing, retention or recruitment of health care workers at their facility(s) or in Kansas. Ensuring a robust and resilient health care workforce and increasing workforce supply through a pipeline of talent is essential to providing optimal health in Kansas.
KHA members can nominate one (1) team of employees, providers or volunteers from one or multiple facilities. Eligible team members must be current employees, providers or volunteers of a Kansas Hospital Association member. Teams should demonstrate the following characteristics: ability to work productively to define and resolve problems; engage in shared decision-making and collaboration; and foster cooperation and open communication.
This award recognizes a team who tackled a workforce-related program, project, strategy or initiative that involves the wellbeing, retention or recruitment of health care workers. The nomination should define how the team innovatively addressed an issue or challenge, and highlight results that demonstrate significant improvement of wellbeing, retention or recruitment of health care workers. Excellent teamwork on a workforce-related program, project, strategy or initiative must have occurred in the last two years.

One corporate photograph of the team must be emailed to awards@kha-net.org. Photos should be an EPS, JPEG or TIFF file. Color photographs are preferred.
Questions on the online nomination form:1) In a brief description (250 words or less), please describe the members of team, how and when the team was established and the issue or challenge the team was to address.2) In a brief description (250 words or less), please describe the program, project, strategy or initiative the team implemented.3) In a brief description (250 words or less), please describe the positive impact the program, project, strategy or initiative had on the wellbeing, retention or recruitment of health care workers.4) In a brief description (250 words or less), describe how the team worked productively to define and resolve problems; engaged in shared decision-making and collaboration; and fostered cooperation and open communication.

All nominated teams will be recognized in publications and on the KHA Web site. Selected team(s) will be recognized with the Workforce Strategies Award. They will be honored with a video showcasing their teamwork on workforce; recognition at the KHA Convention, recognition in a statewide media release, and an award reception and presentation at their location.
