(Jan. 16, 2024) – Today, the House and Senate Tax Committee leadership met to finalize a compromise on a bill carried over from last year. The compromise, now housed in
House Bill 2284, includes many of the components of the 2023 bill. The compromise also Includes a 5.25 percent single bracket, increases the standard deduction, exempts social security taxes and reduces residential property taxes to the state to those making under $100,000. The bill is likely to go before the House and Senate next week for an up or down vote.
