Senate Assessment and Taxation Committee Hold Hearing on Local Ad Valorum Tax Relief Fund
(Jan. 11, 2024) – Today, the Senate Assessment and Taxation Committee, chaired by Senator Caryn Tyson (R-Parker), held a hearing on Senate Bill 196, reinstating transfers to the local Ad Valorem Tax Reduction Fund. Conferees appearing before the committee included:

Committee members asked if the bill had a direct tie to say that LAVTR must go toward property tax reduction or they won't be eligible to receive those funds. The committee will meet again next week.
