Banking Bill Hearing Brings in a Lot of Interest

Banking (Feb. 3, 2025) – Today, the House Financial Institutions and Pensions Committee, chaired by Representative Nick Hoheisel (R-Wichita), held a hearing on House Bill 2152. The legislation would authorize financial institutions to secure governmental unit deposits in excess of the amount insured or guaranteed by the DIC by utilizing a public money pool. The legislation would create public funds investment requirements for local banking entities.
