Campaign Contribution Limit Increase Legislation Passes Senate

Election Results (March 26, 2025) – Senate Sub for House Bill 2054 increases limits on certain campaign contributions and eliminates such limits on contributions to or by party committees. The legislation passed the Senate on a vote of 21-17. The bill increases aggregate limits for each of the following:

  • Governor and Lt. Governor, from $2,000 to $4,000
  • House of Representatives, district judges and attorneys, and local office for populations less than 50,000 from $500 to $1,000
  • State Senator or member of the board of education, or local office for populations of more than 30,000 from $1,000 to $2,000
  • Remove limits from a political committee or the candidates' spouse
  • Increases limits to party committees to $50,000 per calendar year and $20,000 per calendar year to a county party
