The Sunflower Health Network is a not-for-profit organization that consists of 26 counties located primarily in North Central and North West Kansas. Sunflower Health Network's (SHN) specific purpose is to improve the population's health status. The 26 member hospitals, in conjunction with their medical staff, have developed a network that fosters cooperation and coordination. The priority has been to enhance the integration of health-related services among the SHN member communities.

House Commerce Committee Hears Workforce Bills

Nurses (Feb. 13, 2025) – Today, the House Commerce Committee, chaired by Representative Sean Tarwater (R-Stillwell), heard bills related to workforce, including House Bill 2339. House Bill 2339 enhances adult care home services by providing for adult care home workforce development through scholarships for part-time nursing students and setting minimum education levels for instructors at nursing schools, establishing an intergenerational child care program to enhance the adult care home environment by supporting adult care homes offering child care services through the awarding of grants by the secretary of the Kansas Department of Health and Environment and creating the Intergenerational Child Care Fund and authorizing the secretary to administer the fund.
