(Feb. 18, 2025) – Today, the Kansas House took final votes on a long list of legislation and looks to continue their work into the evening. The Kansas House took final votes on following health-related bills:
House Bill 2110 eliminates the requirement that the Kansas 911 Board contract with a local collection point administrator for services, reschedules the date on which the Kansas 911 Operations Fund, Kansas 911 Grant Fund and Kansas 911 Fund shall be established, requires certain transfers. Passed 119-0.
House Bill 2170 designates the first week of February as Kansas Burn Awareness Week. The bill passed on a vote of 91-28.

House Bill 2031 permits driving school instructors to possess a motorcycle driver's license from any state. Passed 117-2.
House Bill 2117 modifies certain business filing and fee requirements for business trusts, foreign corporations and limited partnerships; authorizes professional corporations or limited liability companies formed or organized to render a professional service to participate in transactions under the Business Entity Transactions Act. Passed 118-1.
House Bill 2124 designates a portion of US Highway 160 as the CPL Monte Wayne Forrest Memorial Highway. Passed 119-0.
Sub House Bill 2145 establishes the Butler County Fair Board to consist of 15 members. Passed 118-1.
House Bill 2185 updates the Kansas National Guard Education Assistance Act to include dependents of National Guard members and the Kansas National Guard Educational Master for the Enhanced Readiness and Global Excellence Program to include other advanced degrees. The bill passed 112-6.
House Bill 2215 modifies the definition of public-private partnership to increase the allowable cost-share limit for expenditures by the Kansas Department of Corrections on certain correctional institution construction projects. Passed 119-0.

House Bill 2116 requires that certain contractual provisions be incorporated in all contracts for certain cities and counties, including the provisions of form DA-146a, with certain exceptions. Recommended for a final vote without further floor amendments.
House Bill 2158 permits beekeepers who meet certain requirements to sell packaged honey and honeycombs without holding a food establishment or food processing plant license under the Kansas Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act. Recommended for a final vote without further floor amendments.
House Bill 2155 specifies that sheriffs have liability for official acts related to the charge and custody of jails. Recommended for a final vote without further floor amendments.
House Bill 2280 clarifies that the authorized activities of paramedics, advanced EMTs, EMTs and medical responders may be authorized upon the order of a health care professional permitting certain ambulance services to offer service for less than 24 hours per day, every day of the year, and requires entities using automated external defibrillators to register with the Emergency Medical Services Board. House Bill 2016 includes private online obituary notices as sufficient grounds for removing a deceased voter from voter registration books. Recommended for a final vote without further floor amendments.
House Bill 2118 requires any person who solicits a fee for filing or retrieving certain documents from the federal government, the state, a state agency or a local government to give certain notices to consumers and provides that violation of such requirements is a deceptive act or practice subject to penalties under the Kansas Consumer Protections Act. House Bill 2182, prohibits a sheriff from charging a fee for service of process for proceedings under the Protection from Abuse Act and the Protection from Stalking, Sexual Assault or Human Trafficking Act. Recommended for a final vote without further floor amendments.
House Bill 2062 provides for a child support order for unborn children from the date of conception. Recommended for a final vote without further floor amendments.
House Bill 2039 amends definitions in the Kansas Credentialing Act to provide that certain entities providing physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech-language pathology are not home health agencies. Recommended for a final vote without further floor amendments.
House Bill 2075 requires that a permanency hearing for a child in the custody of the secretary be held within nine months from such child's removal from the home. Recommended for a final vote without further floor amendments.
House Bill 2083 provides a property tax exemption for new energy storage systems and excludes new energy storage systems from the commercial and industrial machinery and equipment exemption. Recommended for a final vote without further floor amendments.
House Sub for House Bill 2007 – the House budget bill. The bill was amended in the following ways:
- Move $500,000 from the Judiciary for contract Fire and EMS services at Larned State Hospital.
- Representative Suzanne Wikle (D-Lawrence) brought an amendment to expand Medicaid and the amendment failed on a vote of 34-82.
- Language to add $1 million to the Kansas Department of Commerce Budget.
