(Jan. 6, 2023) – Today, the Legislative Budget Committee met. The committee heard an update on State General Receipts. Total state receipts through December Fiscal Year 23 were $110M above the estimates, and individual income tax receipts and sales and use tax receipts are slightly over 1 percent below estimates. The committee also heard a review of the Strengthening People and Revitalizing Kansas Executive Committee recommendations of federal funding allocations.

Christine Osterlund, Deputy Director of Medicaid Operations for the Kansas Department of Health and Environment, reviewed Omnibus Impact on Federal Medical Assistance Percentage (FMAP). She presented an overview of the redetermination deadline and highlighted that they estimate they will see between 120,000 – 125,000 individuals who will no longer be eligible.
