(Feb. 12, 2025) – Today, the Senate Public Health and Welfare Committee, chaired by Senator Beverly Gossage (R-Eudora), met virtually to hold hearings on the following bills:
Senate Bill 193 removes law enforcement agencies and officers from the Kansas Board of Pharmacy's statewide opioid antagonist protocol.
Ed Klumpp, Kansas Association of Chiefs of Police was a proponent, and there were no other conferees.
Senate Bill 145 requires immediate notification of a report of abuse or neglect to a law enforcement agency and provides for law enforcement agencies to request resources from the secretary of the Kansas Department for Children and Families.

The committee is scheduled to meet on Thursday, Feb. 13, to hold a hearing on Senate Bill 67, which authorizes registered nurse anesthetists to engage in independent practice and prescribe drugs and prohibits registered nurse anesthetists from performing an abortion or prescribing drugs to induce an abortion.
