Healthworks Board Meeting - March 12

KHA established a foundation for its members in 1969 and redesigned it in 1998 as a 501(c)3 organization. Healthworks, previously the Kansas Hospital Education and Research Foundation, is funded through contributions, grants and educational fees.

Infection Prevention Conference - Mar. 13-14

This conference helps prepare healthcare professionals to be facilitators and resources for the surveillance, prevention, and control of infections. Attendees will discover proven strategies for implementing infection prevention programs. Time will be allotted during the conference for attendees to network and discuss issues with other infection prevention professionals. All participants will receive infection prevention reference materials.

AHA Regional Policy Board Meeting - Mar. 20-21

The American Hospital Association convenes this event to bring together hospital leaders from Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota. AHA staff sets a full agenda to discuss current and future hospital and health care issues.

KHA Board Meeting - Mar. 25

The Kansas Hospital Association has a 21-member board of directors. They meet at least five times a year. Each board member holds three-year terms, with a two-term limit. The board has a composition of members from all geographic areas of Kansas all sizes and types of member hospitals are represented. The board also includes two hospital trustees and two physician members. Other participants include American Hospital Association delegate.

Senate Ways and Means Committee Continues Budget Discussions with KDHE

Budget Plan (March 5, 2025) – Today, the Senate Ways and Means Committee, chaired by Senator Rick Billinger (R-Goodland), continued agency budget discussions for the Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services and began hearings on the Kansas Department of Health and Environment, Division of Health budget. The committee heard from Secretary Janet Stanek, and the committee members asked questions about the agency's requests. The committee will continue to hear agency budgets tomorrow, including:

Kansas Bureau of Investigation
State Fire Marshal
Office of the Attorney General
Board of Indigents Defense Services
