Financial Awareness Campaign in Full Swing – New One-Page Resource on Medicaid

Finance 4 (March 7, 2025) – The Kansas Hospital Association is working to broadly tell the hospital finance story this spring. KHA started these efforts with our annual campaign around the economic impact of hospitals and the health care industry. We also updated our financial infographic highlighting Kansas hospitals' overall financial challenges and providing guidance for hospitals to have meaningful conversations about economic challenges and make positive changes..

This week, KHA is sharing with members the next area of focus for our Financial Awareness Campaign: Medicaid. Our new one-page resource, available to help kick-start discussions about Medicaid, explains how Medicaid provides critical health coverage to various people in every community across Kansas. This coverage helps ensure that patients receive the medical services needed to live healthier and more productive lives. Any negative impact on Medicaid reimbursement is not limited to beneficiaries; it stresses the availability of health care services for everyone.

Next week, we will send out a new toolkit link on Box.com that houses not only the print resources in this campaign but also template social media posts and other communications tools. KHA will boost messages on our social platforms to educate the public and policymakers about Medicaid, explaining the program and highlighting its challenges. In a nutshell, supporting the Medicaid program leads to more health care services for ALL Kansans and stabilizes hospitals and health systems in our communities.
