Kansas Crisis Standards of Care Guidance for Long Term Care Facilities

KDHE (March 28, 2025) – The Kansas Department of Health and Environment Preparedness Program and the Bureau of Community Health Systems worked together with the Kansas Health Institute and other partners from around the state, including the Kansas Hospital Association and KHA member hospital representatives, to create the Kansas Crisis Standards of Care Guidance for Long Term Care Facilities. The guidance for LTC facilities follows the Kansas Crisis Standards of Care Guidance document, revised in 2023, which was originally created for hospitals.

This document aims to assist hospitals and long-term care facilities in planning for events that may require contingencies when dealing with a surge event with limited resources.
