CMS Final Rule Establishes Medicare Appeals Process for Eligible Inpatients Reclassified as Outpatients During Hospital Stay
(Oct. 25, 2024) – The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services released a final rule establishing appeals processes for certain people with Traditional Medicare who are initially admitted to a hospital as an inpatient but are subsequently reclassified as outpatients receiving observation services during their hospital stay and meeting other eligibility criteria.
