Federal Judge Blocks Implementation of Federal Childhood Immunization Schedule
(March 27, 2026) – A U.S. District Court Judge granted the American Academy of Pediatrics request to block the implementation of the federal changes to the childhood immunization schedule, including the new Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices members and their votes, while the case proceeds. The AAP
announced the ruling as historic. The AAP and other medical groups filed the lawsuit against Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. in July of last year and have updated it several times as ACIP continued to change vaccine recommendations. For more information, see the
AAP Statement on Historic Ruling in Vaccine Lawsuit. As noted in the AAP's statement, parents can continue to rely on the
AAP's childhood vaccine recommendations and consult with their pediatrician about how to best protect their children's health.
