(Oct. 24, 2025) – On Oct. 1, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services issued guidance to surveyors and communication to providers about how Survey and Certification activities will be affected by the ongoing federal government shutdown, as outlined in the
Oct. 3 Current Report. As the federal shutdown continues, CMS revised and released
QSO-26-01-ALL REVISED to notify of further reductions in survey activity by state survey and accredited agencies. At this time, only complaint and facility-reported incidents alleging harm or credible allegations of immediate jeopardy will be surveyed. Please refer to
