(Oct. 24, 2025) – Because of the federal government shutdown, Kansas WIC is temporarily suspending shipments of formula for WIC clients to pick up at their local clinics. Formulas that are normally available through an authorized WIC vendor, on store shelves, or ordered via a pharmacy are still accessible. The available WIC food dollars are expected to last into November. KDHE remains committed to helping families meet their food and nutritional needs.
Effective Oct. 10, 2025, orders for specialized WIC formulas that are not available through authorized WIC vendors will no longer be accepted or distributed via the WIC program. The WIC formulary lists all formulas — including specialized options — available through WIC. To prevent access disruptions, KDHE recommends that providers prescribe alternative formulas from the WIC formulary that are available through local vendors or pharmacies.
