(June 5, 2026) – Launched in 2016, the American Hospital Association's Hospitals Against Violence initiative has positioned hospitals and health systems as national leaders in addressing workplace and community violence as a public health issue. Over the past decade, HAV has advanced progress through awareness, practical tools, partnerships, advocacy and field-wide alignment. #HAVhope marks a National Day of Awareness highlighting how hospitals and health systems combat violence in their workplaces and communities.
Hospitals and health systems continue working toward partnerships, innovations and creative thinking to foster peace and create a safer environment for workers and patients. We invite Kansas Hospital Association members to share what their hospital or health system is doing to advance this effort using #HAVhope. By operating as a united front, our hospitals in Kansas and across the nation can forge a path for all to have hope. A digital toolkit of resources is available online.
