President's Perspective – Kansas Virtual Health Care Career Day – Feb. 18

Virtual Health Care Career Day Logo 2026 (Nov. 14, 2025) – Registration is now open for the 2026 Kansas Virtual Health Care Career Day, and we invite Kansas hospitals to join us on Feb. 18, 2026. The Kansas Hospital Association, Kansas State Department of Education and Kansas Board of Regents have once again collaborated this year to develop an excellent agenda for the 2026 event.

The Kansas Virtual Health Care Career Day takes students inside Kansas hospitals to explore the many career opportunities in health care and engages them in real-world learning. Students of all ages, and grade levels, are welcome to participate. Health care providers will share insights into eight career fields: pediatrics, laboratory, advanced practice providers, dietary services, radiology/imaging, social services, EMT/paramedicine and orthopedics/sports medicine.

This event is completely virtual and will be hosted on Zoom. After registering, you will receive the Zoom link and a calendar invitation. Last year, 4,000 students from more than 200 schools signed up for this event. Some schools choose to participate through health science classes, while others stream it to an open cafeteria, auditorium or resource room for all students to watch. Additionally, some hospitals hosted students for the event. KHA has compiled a list of ideas to help hospitals engage with local students interested in health care careers during this event and to encourage hospital participation.

Since February is Career and Technical Education Month, this event offers a great chance for students to explore careers in a high-demand industry. All education levels and community members are welcome to participate in the free KVHCC event from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Feb. 18.

Thank you to our partners at Kansas State Department of Education and the Kansas Board of Regents, in addition to the eight hospitals that volunteered to showcase careers in the 2026 Virtual Health Care Career Day: Children's Mercy Hospital, Overland Park; Coffey County Hospital, Burlington; HaysMed, Hays; Kiowa County Memorial Hospital, Greensburg; Meade District Hospital/Artesian Valley Health System, Meade; Mitchell County Hospital Health Systems, Beloit; Norton County Hospital, Norton; and Wilson Medical Center, Neodesha.

We hope you can join us for this fantastic event in February!
