Recognizing, Managing and Preventing Measles: A Clinical and Public Health Update Webinar – May 22
(May 9, 2025) – The Kansas Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Kansas Department of Health and Environment are hosting a case-based continuing medical education session to address the resurgence of measles. The webinar takes place at noon on Thursday, May 11. The webinar will equip health care professionals with the tools to recognize, report and manage measles cases effectively.
Robert Wittler, MD, will provide a medical overview to aid in diagnosis and treatment. Farah Ahmed, MPH, PhD, will provide insight into the current measles outbreaks in Kansas.
By the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:
- Identify clinical signs and complications of measles using case-based learning
- Choose appropriate diagnostic tests based on timing and presentation
- Follow KDHE reporting and isolation guidelines accurately
- Utilize tools for infection prevention, education, and measles case management
The intended audience is physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and other health care professionals involved in infectious disease management, pediatrics, emergency medicine or public health.
