The Kansas Hospital Association looks forward to celebrating National Hospital Week next week, May 11-17. A toolkit of resources is available to assist members in their hospital week celebrations. The assets are online in the Hospital Week Toolkit folder. They include videos, social media posts, frames, a media release and more. AHA also resources hospitals can use.

Healthworks Board Meeting - May 22

KHA established a foundation for it's members in 1969 and redesigned it in 1998 as a 501(c)3 organization. Healthworks, previously the Kansas Hospital Education and Research Foundation, is funded through contributions, grants and educational fees.

KHSC Board Meeting - May 27

KHSC is a wholly owned subsidiary of KHA. Therefore, a secondary objective of KHSC is to support KHA in meeting its mission to serve hospitals. Its mission is to provide enhanced value to KHA members through evaluation and endorsement of selected vendors of services needed by the KHA membership. KHSC will be a valuable resource to Kansas health care facilities and KHA as they serve their constituents.

KHA Board Retreat - May 28-May 30

The Kansas Hospital Association has a 21-member board of directors. They meet at least five times a year. Each board member holds three-year terms, with a two-term limit. The board has a composition of members from all geographic areas of Kansas all sizes and types of member hospitals are represented. The board also includes two hospital trustees and two physician members. Other participants include American Hospital Association delegate.

KHIMA Educational Program - June 2-3

KHIMA is a component state association of the American Health Information Management Association.

Recognizing, Managing and Preventing Measles: A Clinical and Public Health Update Webinar – May 22

KAAP logo (May 9, 2025) – The Kansas Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Kansas Department of Health and Environment are hosting a case-based continuing medical education session to address the resurgence of measles. The webinar takes place at noon on Thursday, May 11. The webinar will equip health care professionals with the tools to recognize, report and manage measles cases effectively.

Robert Wittler, MD, will provide a medical overview to aid in diagnosis and treatment. Farah Ahmed, MPH, PhD, will provide insight into the current measles outbreaks in Kansas.

By the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:

Identify clinical signs and complications of measles using case-based learning
Choose appropriate diagnostic tests based on timing and presentation
Follow KDHE reporting and isolation guidelines accurately
Utilize tools for infection prevention, education, and measles case management

The intended audience is physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and other health care professionals involved in infectious disease management, pediatrics, emergency medicine or public health.
