(November 2021) – Many golfers have been frustrated with their golf clubs and have been known to slam them into the ground, throw them into trees, down the fairway and even into the nearest water hole (big or small) even though it's not the club's fault a bad shot was made, but operator error.
Not so with one of our KAHRMM members, Tyson Allen. (Read KVOE article entitled, Emporian Tyson Allen Makes, Currently Unofficial, World Record Throw Saturday). He was throwing his golf club down the field not because he was frustrated but for a chance of setting a world record. Unofficially, Tyson has succeeded in his endeavors. The world record for golf throwing is 199 feet. Tyson's amazing throw was measured at just over 230 feet!
Tyson says it is an amazing feeling to know he may soon be in the Guinness Book of Records. Along with trying to break the world golf throwing record, he was raising money for the Emporia High School Golf Team and Emporia State Track and Field.
Congratulations Tyson! Let us know when the official declaration has been announced that you are now in the Guinness Book for World Records!
